Business innovaton for youth – Capacity2Transform project
On June 4-5, 2025, the Starter Incubator in Gdansk will host a Business Innowathon for young people, an event implemented as part of the Capacity2Transform project, which aims to support young people in creating solutions to the challenges of digital, green and creative transformation in Europe’s regions.
The event is aimed at high school and college students aged 16-23. During the two intensive days, participants will work in teams on real challenges, prepared by the Gdansk Tourism Organization, regarding the development of local tourism.
Objectives and course of the event
The goal of Innowaton is for young participants to design innovative solutions that can improve tourism in Gdansk. Participants will develop their ideas based on project methodology, business tools and mentor support. The result of their work will be the presentation of finished concepts that can inspire further development and implementation.
The event will be led by experienced facilitator Agnieszka Ploska, and young people will receive support from experts in various industries.
Examples of challenges that participants will work on:
– How to increase the number of tourists visiting Gdansk in the off-season (January-April)?
– How to encourage visitors to use public transportation instead of cars?
– How to make residents use the free entrances offered by the Gdansk Resident Card more often, and how to make partners promote it more actively?

– Team work on a selected challenge
– workshops on idea generation and business model development
– work with the Business Model Canvas tool
– project preparation and presentation (also in English, if the team is ready)
– consultations with mentors from different areas – including. business, technology, tourism and communications
